Election  Committees

To ensure fairness in the election process, the election is supervised by a group of members who have no other involvement in the union. These members are elected by the Union's members, and serve a term of three years. Persons interested in serving on this committee need to contact the Local office at 272- 4108 and fill out a Nomination Acceptance Form. After the committee has been selected, they will meet with members of the Local's Executive Board to review how to conduct the election. Election Committee members will be compensated for all time they must lose from work in order to conduct the election, as well as for the cost of meals and mileage incurred during the election and vote-counting process. The more members who volunteer to serve on the Election Committee will determine the number and hours of the polling places.
